Well after many conversations, dreams, idea’s and the purchase of a new ice cream van (well its not new, its from 1972!) we are now able to fully confirm what we hope to become a new wave of pop up parties on the move! Some exciting journeys of discovery, adventure and ice cream van rave offs in your town, their town and anybody elses we come across on our merry way! Its here! The Screwball Rally is born!
The vintage classic of a banged out Bedford ice cream van is on its way to full repair (hopefully, there will be no major issues). With additional seating being installed and a juicy soundsystem onboard, we hope all is well in preparation for our first journey starting off at 2.31 on the afternoon of Sunday 10th June. A team of reprobates, idiots and wannabe’s has been assembled with a convoy in tow and an eager film crew to capture it all step by step. Will we make it???? Will we accomplish our first road trip???? Hmmmm we hope so. This is our itiniery.
BIRMINGHAM TO IBIZA! via PARIS, MARSEILLE & THE SPANISH COAST TO BARCELONA in time for the ONE ILLUSION party!
- Morning Breakfast at The Cross in Moseley
- Prepare the wagon & leave from Digbeth headed for London
- Arrive into London for pickups, a tour of the sites & a spot of traditional fish & chips! (why not!)
- Then on through the night to Calais for some 2am Eurotunnel crossings
- Spearhead on through the night arriving at The Eiffel Tower in Paris on Monday morning to pick up Mr Adam Shelton fresh out of Berlin
- Some Parisian site seeing, more filming & lots of dossin abaaeert!
- Then with Adam Shelton grooving on the decks for what could no doubt appear as the worlds longest dj set from an ice cream van on the move – we carry on our journey throughout France and Spain, stopping off at whatever looks like a worthwhile mooch
- Arrive into Marseille early on Tuesday morning for some decent rest for what will no doubt be the most scenic and adventurous part of the journey
- Travel along the nooks & crannies of the spanish coast, scoping it out, dossing, diving, swimming, skating & whatever else gives us a buzz
- Over night random camp spot (preferably illegal), bonfire, BBQ and a ridiculous amount of alcoholic games
- Moving on then to Barcelona, arriving in time for the event of ‘anti-sonar’ – the ONE ILLUSION party taking place on Thursday 14th June. Perhaps including another impromptu ice cream van party in whatever way tickles us and everybody else!?
- Have it off in Barcelona at a multitude of our friends parties, resting up on the beaches during the days, preparing ourselves for the final leg
- AT THIS POINT – SOME ARE FLYING BACK HOME ON FRIDAY 15TH JUNE
- Head for Ibiza either from barcelona itself or travel down the coast to Valencia to catch a ferry from there. Either way the ice cream van lands on the island just after mid June for a warm welcome, a summer of pop up parties & a shedload of good times! Arrrrrrr yes this is ambitious but by no means impossible! We’re counting on you Screwball kidda!!!

Well a convoy of vehicles aint no skin off our noses, the more people we have onboard the better. Get in touch if your interested. Its important to mention that we will indeed be doing this on a shoestring, its more fun that way. We cannot wait for this shit and if for any reason it doesnt happen (engine issues with the van letting us down) it’ll be happening not long after. This is our plan and we will be commencing it, one way, or another! Now cross your fingers.
