Below started because the promoters Lee McDonald, Adam Shelton and Ross T were fed up of travelling out of town to listen to the music they liked thus Below was born. It started off in the basement of a boozer and has enjoyed sporadic parties in non-commercial spaces including a Thai restaurant, car parks, disused warehouses, used warehouses, a Vintage Clothes Shop, a 70′s club, cellars, a vegetarian restaurant, drained pools and a strip club.
Below found its home at The Rainbow a old Victorian pub with a unique courtyard space that had a raw underground feel. Basic lighting, tropical trees and graffitied walls won the vote of the city and indeed the rest of the country with a regular out of town crowd.
The party takes place on a Sunday daytime and has brought some of the worlds finest DJ’s to Birmingham for the first time.
